My name is James Shaw and I was born in New Orleans.

I graduated from LSU with a degree in Marketing.  My dad gave me my first "real" camera, a Canon 30D.  I loved figuring out how to use it.

Never in a million years did I think I’d be shooting weddings, but here we are.  It all started in 2011 when a friend's sister INSIST I shoot her wedding.  While I tried my best to decline, she wouldn't let me.  I was nervous and had no idea what I was doing...I had one camera and one lens.  And yes, I shot in JPEG.

I am truly obsessed with photography and I’ve truly grown to love documenting the big day for so many cool people.  It is a privilege to get to witness such love and provide memories that will last for generations.  I don't take that lightly.   

I hate small talk.  I love honest, real moments.  I know how awkward a camera pointed at you can be.  I love capturing the candid moment.
